General REPERTOIRE Requirements
- Piece(s) must be from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic or 20th/21st Century period by a standard classical music composer.
- All pieces must be played from memory for all rounds.
- One movement of Sonatina, Sonata, or Suite can be considered as one piece.
- Arrangements, simplified or modified editions, and popular music will not be accepted.
- Piece(s) must be a solo work. Concertos, duets, and other chamber music works are not acceptable.
- Method book pieces are allowed under the given circumstances:
- Group A: piece(s) must be more than 16 measures long
- Group B: piece(s) must be more than 32 measures long
- Pieces must be an original solo by the pedagogical composer. Traditional tunes like Yankee Doodle, Row, Row, Row Your Boat, London Bridge, etc. are not acceptable.
- Method book pieces are not allowed in any other age group other than the two listed above.

Repertoire Requirements By Age Group
- Contestants may perform one piece or multiple pieces for each round, as long as it fits the time limit of the respective groups.
- Contestants may repeat repertoire from the Preliminary Round in later rounds.
- Contestants may NOT repeat repertoire from the Final Round in the Grand Final Round.
Preliminary Round: Video Submission
• Group A (ages 7 and under): 4 minutes maximum.
• Group B (ages 8-9): 5 minutes maximum.
• Group C (ages 10-12): 5 minutes minimum, 10 minutes maximum.
• Group D (ages 13-15): 10 minutes minimum, 15 minutes maximum.
• Group E (ages 16-18): 15 minutes minimum, 20 minutes maximum.
Final Round: 3-judge panel, virtual live performance OR in-person performance in NYC.
• Group A (ages 7 and under): 4 minutes maximum.
• Group B (ages 8-9): 5 minutes maximum.
• Group C (ages 10-12): 4 minutes minimum, 6 minutes maximum.
• Group D (ages 13-15): 6 minutes minimum, 8 minutes maximum.
• Group E (ages 16-18): 8 minutes minimum, 10 minutes maximum.
Grand Final Round: newly recorded performance, streamed live with judges.
• Group A (ages 7 and under): 4 minutes maximum.
• Group B (ages 8-9): 5 minutes maximum.
• Group C (ages 10-12): 4 minutes minimum, 6 minutes maximum.
• Group D (ages 13-15): 6 minutes minimum, 8 minutes maximum.
• Group E (ages 16-18): 8 minutes minimum, 10 minutes maximum.
