Welcome to Piano League, a home for everyone who loves the piano. Piano League® is owned and operated by Piano League LLC (“Piano League”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply to thepianoleague.com and everything on it, including news and articles, Piano League Play, Piano League Find and our competition pages. By using the site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Piano League

Anyone can read the site and play the games without an account. Play accounts are for people 13 and older. If you are under 18, please use the site with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian. Children under 13 may play as guests, which requires no personal information.

Accounts and usernames

• Give accurate information when you create an account, and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Your username is shown on public leaderboards. It can be your real name or a nickname. It must not impersonate anyone, be offensive, or advertise anything.
• We may change or remove a username, score or account that breaks these terms.

Fair play

Leaderboards are only fun if they are fair. Do not use bots, scripts, repeated fake runs or other tricks to change scores. We may remove scores or accounts that look automated or unfair, without notice.

What you post or submit

This includes community questions, game ideas, poll answers, comments, contact messages, Find listings and anything else you send us. You keep ownership of it. You give Piano League a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, display, edit for length and clarity, and share it on the site and our social channels. Please only submit content that you have the right to share and that is:

• accurate, and not false or misleading;
• respectful, and not threatening, harassing, hateful, obscene or otherwise unsuitable for a family audience;
• free of other people’s private information;
• not advertising or spam;
• not infringing anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights.

We review submissions and may decline, edit or remove any of them.

Piano League Find

Find is a free directory to help people discover piano teachers, schools, studios, tuners, movers and venues. Listings are based on public business information or on what the business submitted. We do our best to keep them accurate, but we do not verify qualifications, prices or quality, and we do not endorse any listed business. Arrangements you make with a listed business are between you and that business. Listing details such as prices, hours, availability and services can change at any time and may be out of date. Always confirm details directly with the business before you book or pay. An "Owner managed" badge means the business owner manages that listing; it is not an endorsement by Piano League. If you own a listed business, you can claim your listing, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it through our contact form.

Piano League Studio

Studio helps private teachers keep a student list, schedule lessons, send invoices and get paid.

• You are responsible for the information you add about your students and families, and for having their permission to add it. Use it only to run your studio.
• Your lessons, rates and policies are between you and your families. Piano League is not a party to them and does not guarantee payment.
• Card payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms, into your own Stripe account. Piano League takes no commission. Stripe charges its standard fees, which come out of each payment. You handle refunds and disputes with your families. Zelle, Venmo, cash and check payments happen outside Piano League.
• Studio is free for up to 5 active students. Pro costs $9.99 a month or $99 a year, renews automatically, and can be cancelled any time in Settings; it stays active until the end of the period you paid for. We don't give refunds for partial periods. We will tell you before any price change.
• If you stop using Studio, you can ask us to delete your studio and your students' information.

News, advice and competition information

We work to make our news, Expert Advice articles and competition deadlines accurate, and we correct mistakes when we find them. They are for general information only. Competition deadlines, rules and prizes are set by each competition and can change, so always check the competition’s official website before you apply. Advice from teachers and performers on our site does not replace lessons with your own teacher.

Our content

The site, including its articles, games, videos, photos, design and the Piano League and Piano Star names and logos, belongs to Piano League or to the people who licensed it to us. Performances in our videos belong to the performers and to us. You may share links to our pages and use the share buttons in Play. Please do not copy, republish or sell our content without written permission.

Other websites

We link to and embed content from other websites, such as YouTube and competition websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

Changes and availability

We may change, pause or stop any part of the site, including games, leaderboards and features, at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can stop using the site at any time, and you can ask us to close your account.

Disclaimer

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Piano League will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or use, arising from your use of the site.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless Piano League and its owners, team members and partners from claims, liabilities and reasonable legal fees that result from your breach of these terms or from content you submit.

Disputes and governing law

Any dispute about these terms or the site will be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, in a location both sides agree on or, failing that, in the state where Piano League has its principal place of business. These terms are governed by the laws of that state. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. If you keep using the site after an update, the new terms apply.
