“I started playing the piano at 4 years old, and by the age of 7 I was giving a series of regionally recognized concerts to raise money for famine relief, receiving letters from the London, New York and Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestras, commending my efforts. At the of height of my playing I was practicing at least 5 hours a day, 3-5 days a week. But when I became a mother, I shifted my focus to motherhood and practicing so many hours straight wasn’t as much of a priority. In fact, I all together stopped practicing for 12 years, and resumed practicing just a few years ago. It’s hard to find and commit to the time that it takes to get the repertoire back under my fingers, but when I do, it brings me back to the love I have for the instrument. Most recently, I was featured in the movie “Bright Ones” where I played the piano in a scene side by side with my daughter. It is so fulfilling to marry all of my passions together (music, piano, composition, singing, songwriting, acting and directing) and I was able to do just that in the movie.”
