About the Gulf Coast Symphony in Florida
Founded in 1995 by current music director and CEO, Dr. Andrew Kurtz, the GCS includes the Symphony, the Gulf Coast Chamber Orchestra, the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective, and the Music & Arts Community Center. It is now the second-largest nonprofit performing arts organization in Lee County.
With a goal of using music and the arts as a vehicle to unite and strengthen the surrounding community, the GCS offers over 100 programs in classical music, jazz, world music, dance, opera, film, and musical theater. The MACC is the creative hub of the community with classes for all ages, including MusicWorks!, a daily after school string program for grades 1-5, a youth orchestra program for grades 6-12, and a youth jazz program.
The Symphony’s upcoming season includes 15 shows at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall and a majority of its performances at the MACC. Learn more about upcoming concerts here.
