Nina Polonsky, 2021 PL Teacher of the Year

Nina Polonsky is a highly regarded chamber musician and pedagogue. Before she emigrated from Russia she held a position as a teacher and faculty pianist at the prestigious Gnessin Music College in Moscow. Coming to Columbus Ohio Ms.Polonsky continued to perform, often collaborating with musicians from the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, playing recitals with her husband – CSO Associate Concertmaster Leonid Polonsky and their two daughters – now well known musicians – pianist Anna Polonsky and violinist Olga Polonsky. At the same time Ms.Polonsky continued her teaching career starting her piano studio.Today Nina Polonsky is widely recognized as a master piano teacher. Her students are the top prize winners of national and international competitions, including American Chopin Competition, New York International Piano Competition, Kosciuszko Piano Competition, Steinway Competition, Ibla World Music competition(Italy), Milos Magin International Competition (France). Her students have graduated from Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music.
