Mikhail Kambarov wins La Palma d’Oro International Piano Competition
The Russian pianist took first prize in San Benedetto del Tronto, where the jury left second prize unawarded.

Russian pianist Mikhail Kambarov, 26, has won first prize at the 10th edition of La Palma d’Oro International Piano Competition in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. The prize is worth 5,000 euros.
In the final at the Teatro Concordia, Kambarov played the first movement of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, the “Emperor”, with the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana under conductor Konstantin Ilievsky. Forty pianists from 10 countries took part in this year’s competition.
The jury, chaired by Pasquale Iannone, did not award a second prize. Third prize was shared by Hibiki Katayama of Japan and Danylo Saienko of Ukraine, and the Pettini Prize went to Ekaterina Bonyushkina of Russia.
Kambarov was also a competitor at the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
