Edward Leung wins 2026 Albert Roussel International Piano Competition
The American pianist took first prize in Paris, ahead of Andrzej Wiercinski of Poland and Ariela Bohrod of the United States.
American pianist Edward Leung has won first prize at the 2026 Albert Roussel International Piano Competition in Paris. The final took place on September 27 at the Salle Cortot.
Leung played Saint-Saëns’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in the final. He also received a special prize for his performance of a work by Albert Roussel, the French composer the competition is named after.
Second prize went to Polish pianist Andrzej Wiercinski, who performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1. American pianist Ariela Bohrod took third prize with Gershwin’s Concerto in F. The jury was chaired by Aïda Marcossian.
