Born in Bangkok, Thailand. Kant Lormsomboon started learning the piano at the age of five. He studied piano in the class of Nat Yontararak and Wanchana Sompakdee at “Nat Studio Piano Institute”, where he has been helping in many charity projects since he was young. Such as, the “Gift of Life Foundation” by participating in the album “Giving the Gift of Life from Students of Nat Studio”, the first recording for the foundation by Nat Studio students, the proceeds from this album went towards the needy blood disease patients. In 2020, alongside the COVID-19 pandemic, Kant has participated in two episodes of “Sala Digital Concert Series” by Sala Sudasiri Sobha, an online concert series in a collaboration with his piano trio and the FIVERA band, the donation from the concert series went towards the “ART for CANCER” foundation to helping cancer patients with treatment funds, encouraging and creating the living inspiration to the patient through art.

Kant has received three prizes from the “2nd Siam International Piano Competition” including the “Piyabhand” prize together with the prize for best performance of a compulsory piece and the youngest finalist. He also won the Second Prize from the “1st Trinity Guildhall National Youth Piano Competition”. Apart from classical music, he is the winner of the “Hotwave Music Awards” the most famous competition for rock bands in Thailand.

In 2012, Kant continued his musical studies with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tongsuang Israngkun at the Faculty of Fine and Applied ArtsChulalongkorn University where he received an opportunity to study in many other musical subjects including chamber music, composition, orchestration, conducting. During that time, he also received a full- scholarship from “Musica Mundi” chamber music course and festival in Belgium. He was also selected by the university as an outstanding student to participate in Master Class and Lecture in Voice and Piano Accompaniment with Istvan Bonyhadi and Franz Lukasovsky from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW).

After graduated his bachelor’s degree in Fine and Applied Arts (Piano Performance) with honours. He received the “Ernst Mach-Grants (ASEA-UNINET)” long-term scholarships from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) to study at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria, with Prof. Christoph Declara during the academic year 2016-2017. Since then, he has continued his international music career and pursuing his master’s degree in Piano Chamber Music and Song Interpretation with Prof. Imre Rohmann and Prof. Jean-Pierre Faber at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

Kant gave concerts as a solo recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral keyboardist in many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium), the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Sala Sudasiri Sobha, and the Thailand Cultural Centre. He has performed numerously throughout his native country Thailand, and widely across the world namely Austria (Vienna, Salzburg), Germany (Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Bayreuth, Bad Homburg), Belgium (Brussels, Waterloo), Slovenia (Ljubljana), Czech Republic (Prague, Brno), Italy (Rome, Florence, Trieste, Venice), Japan (Osaka), United States of America (Los Angeles, San Diego, New York), and United Arab Emirate (Abu Dhabi). He has made appearances in major music festivals such as “Festival junger Künstler Bayreuth”, “Young Euro Classic Berlin”, “New York Sound of Summer”, and “Los Angeles International Music Festival”.

As a concert soloist, he was invited to perform Somtow Sucharitkul “Queen Sirikit” Piano Concerto with Siam Sinfonietta under the baton of Trisdee na Patalung in celebration of the birthday of HM the Queen Dowager of Thailand. He also performed L.v. Beethoven Triple Concerto conducted by Silpathorn awarded Artist Dr. Nora-ath Chanklum with Chulalongkorn University Symphony Orchestra.

Kant also works as a piano répétiteur with Opera Siam Company in Bangkok and other international production for a various style of operas and musicals such as “Die Fliegende Holländer” by R. Wagner (2013), “Otello” by G. Verdi (2014), Opera “Dan no ura” by Somtow Sucharitkul (2014), “Die Zauberflöte” by W. A. Mozart (2015), “Cixi Taihou” The Musical (2015), “Brundibar” by Hans Krása (2015), Opera “The Silent Prince” and “Bhuridatta” from The Ten Lives of The Buddha by Somtow Sucharitkul (2015), Opera “Suwanna Sama” from The Ten Lives of The Buddha by Somtow Sucharitkul (2016), “Zum Sterben Schön” Musical from the “Grabgeflüster” (2017).

Kant performed familiarly on the celesta, organ, and harpsichord which appearing in the recording of G. Holst’s The Planets and G. Mahler’s symphonies with Siam Sinfonietta conducted by Somtow Sucharitkul.

In 2019, Kant and his piano trio, has launched their own first classical music album “MOZART IN BEE FLAT” live recording with Reel to Reel Audiotape method, now available on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and more.
